Social Listening - OFFFIELD

Image
I chose to write about OFFFIELD, they make cbd gummies and drinks specifically for athletes. I usually think of cbd as something that makes you relax so marketing it as something to take prior to a workout caught me eye and I decided to write about the company. Their products usually contain a combination of cbd and Yerba Mate so you've got something that revs you up but also helps relax your muscles a bit. Sounds like a pretty remarkable idea to me. From the reviews I was able to find it seems like people who've tried it love it.  OFFFIELD's Instagram's bio is "Movement Made Happy, Plant enhanced drinks and gummies to help you perform at your highest" Get it? Highest? Because weed? They're pretty punny if you ask me. Humor seems to be a big part of their marketing. If I were to paraphrase their mission statement it'd be something along the lines of "Our products make working out suck less!". OFFFIELD's Instagram feed is full of photos o

Minions/The Office - Marketing Blog Post

While looking for an ad campaign to write about, one stood out to me among the rest and that’s the unlikely collaboration of the hit tv show “The Office” and the newly released Despicable Me prequel, “Minions: The Rise of Gru”. I was interested in this ad because I was a fan of The Office back when it was airing and I also enjoyed the first couple Despicable Me movies growing up. While both are comedies, I think the fanbase of the two are pretty different. Despicable Me is a goofy movie about a supervillain and his army of little yellow alien things and The Office is an adult sitcom about a paper company. This is definitely remarkable. The intention of the ad is to promote the new movie release as well as the “extended superfan” episodes of The Office on Peacock. The ad is the opening theme song of The Office but

My First Marketing Blog - About Me

Image
I'm Ryan Janowitz, I'm studying Graphic Design at Linn Benton Community College. I'm writing this blog for my Principles of Marketing class. I'm not a business major but I believe this class will help me be successful in my future graphic designing endeavors.       I work for two small longboard skateboard shops, Original Skateboards in Troutdale, and The Uprise in Corvallis. I'm looking forward to applying the skills I learn in this class to my work. I'm most interested in learning how to market myself. I need to be able to sell myself if I aim to succeed in the field of graphic design.      Apart from school I have a lot of hobbies. I'm passionate about skateboarding, drawing, music, photography, going on hikes and road trips and just about anything else outdoorsy.
